Downtown Rescue Mission Women's Pavilion
Year Completed: 2017
Project Size: 28,923 Sqft
Downtown Rescue Mission has been committed to bringing the hope of the Gospel to the hurting, hungry, and homeless in our community. At the time the project began, the women were in the same building as the men, which provided some challenges with the need to keep them separate on their journey's to stand on their feet again. The women and children's building houses more than 200 women and children - an increase from the 60 they could accommodate in their previous facility. In addition to dorm rooms for sleeping, the building includes plenty of restrooms and showers, a commercial kitchen, dining room, counseling offices, classrooms, play area for kids, laundry room, wellness room, and study areas.
The new separate building for the women and children allowed DRM to expand their men's shelter while also creating units for families in need.
