Madison Hospital

Year Completed: 2012
Project Size: 172,000 Sqft

Madison Hospital is Alabama’s newest hospital which was built and will be operated by Huntsville Hospital Health System to serve the residents of the City of Madison and communities in western Madison County.

Akin to the challenges at Calhoun’s Huntsville campus, the hospital was built and phased around existing emergency and imaging departments that had to be kept functioning and open to the public.

The full-service hospital includes a five-story patient tower on the East, with emergency, surgery, imaging, and labor and delivery departments on the West. The hospital has been designed to incrementally expand to 200 beds.

The hospital was designed to not feel like a traditional hospital. The character was developed with input from the local community so that leading edge technology could be combined with the traditional Southern elements in such a way that would feel comfortable to the patients and community.
