Messiah Lutheran Church
Year Completed: 2012
To accommodate a steadily growing congregation, Messiah Lutheran Church made the decision to both extend their sanctuary and expand the narthex. Chapman Sisson used this opportunity to increase the amount of natural light into both spaces, and provide more room, not only for additional congregation, but also for the choir and baptistry on the chancel. To continue the warm character of the existing building into the new space, the unique glue-laminated timber structure and roof decking were carried into the expanded sanctuary, and new stained glass was added as a focal point into the new building.
